KatadataOTO – Amid the hustle and bustle of IIMS 2025, Chery continues to show its support for environmental conservation by participating in tree planting in Lebak, Banten.
PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) this time conducted a productive tree planting activity in an event initiated by the Forum of Former Officials (FPP) of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. This activity is a form of appreciation for the Karian Reservoir, La Tansa Islamic Boarding School in Lebak, Banten, for its crucial role in supplying water to the people of Jakarta and its surroundings.
The activity began with a convoy of Chery's flagship models, dominated by electric vehicles (EVs), including the Chery Omoda E5 and Chery J6. The send-off ceremony was held at the DKI Jakarta City Hall and was officiated by the Assistant for Governmental Affairs to the Jakarta Provincial Secretary, Sigit Wijatmoko.
The group then moved towards Lebak, Banten, to carry out a series of activities including planting around 300 tree seedlings and releasing 200 fish fry. This activity symbolizes synergy and the beginning of agglomeration in environmental conservation efforts.
Rifkie Setiawan, Head of Brand Department at PT CSI, mentioned that his party, together with the FPP of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, initiated a greening movement by planting various types of productive trees as well as iconic Jakarta-native trees. Among them are Avocado and Cempedak; these species were chosen because they are productive trees that can provide long-term economic value for the people of Lebak and its surroundings.
"This program itself can create a harmonious synergy between environmental conservation and sustainable local economic empowerment," explained Rifkie.
For your information, Chery Indonesia's activities are in line with Chery's global sustainability vision, which carries the theme 'For Us For Future'. The automotive company continues to innovate in presenting environmentally friendly vehicles and is active in various corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs in various countries.

Meanwhile in Indonesia, Chery continues to strengthen its contribution through various sustainability programs, including the joint initiative with the FPP of the Jakarta Provincial Government. It is hoped that this will be the beginning of major steps in building a better environment for future generations.
"This is a tangible manifestation of Chery's commitment to supporting a sustainable ecosystem. Not only through environmentally friendly vehicle technology, but also through real action in nature conservation," concluded Rifkie.
