iCar V27 Enters Production, Chery's New Car Candidate in Indonesia

Chery's latest car, the Tiggo Cross Hybrid, is strongly believed to enter Indonesia through the GIIAS 2025 event.
KatadataOTO – The first hybrid car from Chery, the Tiggo 8 CSH, has received a positive response since its launch. Orders for the PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) have already surpassed 2,000 units.
Seeing the relatively good sales of hybrid cars, PT CSI (Chery Sales Indonesia) is opening up the possibility of introducing other environmentally friendly models for Indonesian consumers.
One of the strong candidates likely to be introduced is the Tiggo Cross Hybrid. This model is Chery's smallest HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle).
When asked for confirmation regarding the presence of the Chery Tiggo Cross Hybrid in the country, Chery stated that they are currently conducting a study.
“There is a possibility, it won't be long. Just wait and see,” said Zeng Shuo, Country Director of PT CSI, responding to a question from KatadataOTO in Jakarta on Tuesday (17/05).
Although reluctant to provide more details, he revealed that Chery has discussed and is considering the Tiggo Cross Hybrid for immediate sale in the country.
If it arrives, the Tiggo Cross Hybrid has the potential to be the cheapest hybrid car from PT CSI.
“Just wait and see, hopefully, the prayers will be answered,” said Zeng Shuo.
Regarding the launch time, it is strongly believed that GIIAS (Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show) will be utilized by Chery to introduce the Tiggo Cross Hybrid to domestic consumers.
For your information, Chery currently only sells the gasoline engine version of the entry-level Tiggo Cross model.
Considering Chery's commitment to focus on developing sub-brands in Indonesia, especially Tiggo, this model certainly has a great opportunity to complete Chery's SUV lineup here.
Some of the Tiggo lines offered by PT CSI to Indonesian consumers are the Tiggo 7 Pro, Tiggo 8 Pro, Tiggo 8 Pro Max, and the Tiggo 8 CSH.
The hybrid variant of the Tiggo Cross is already being offered in Malaysia and Australia. In fact, Chery is reportedly going to locally assemble the model in Malaysia.
Unlike the Tiggo 8 CSH, the environmentally friendly version of the Tiggo Cross is equipped with a conventional hybrid system, not a PHEV.
Meanwhile, in Australia, the Tiggo Cross will be sold under the name Tiggo 4 Hybrid. Its price has been announced, starting from 29,990 USD (around Rp 486 million).
