Chery Tiggo Cross is a higher class than Tiggo 5X

KatadataOTO – The Chery Tiggo Cross is being prepared to launch at the IIMS (Indonesia International Motor Show) 2025 exhibition. It is expected to entice visitors at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta.

However, CSI (Chery Sales Indonesia) ensures that the presence of its new product will not disrupt the market for its sibling, the Chery Tiggo 5X.

“Actually, the Tiggo Cross does not replace the Tiggo 5X. Instead, we are positioning it above it,” said Mohamad Ilham Pratama at PIK (Pantai Indah Kapuk), on Monday (10/02).

Ilham confirmed that the two products will not compete with each other, even though they both fall into the compact SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle) segment.

Moreover, the target consumers are very different. The Chery Tiggo Cross is intended more for buyers in the 25-45 age range.

“So they are young people, young at heart, and active young families who see this car (Chery Tiggo Cross) as a lifestyle,” he continued.

Meanwhile, the consumer characteristics for the Chery Tiggo 5X are quite different. That product is targeted more towards an older demographic.

“From that, we see that Chery Tiggo Cross buyers are looking for a dynamic and stylish vehicle. And it's in a higher segment,” Ilham emphasized.

For your information, in terms of dimensions, Chery's new car is indeed quite large. It has a length of 4,320 mm, a width of 1,831 mm, and a height of 1,662 mm.

Meanwhile, its sibling, the Tiggo 5X, has a length of 4,318 mm, a width of 1,831 mm, a height of 1,662 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,610 mm.

On the other hand, the Chinese brand has equipped its new product with a number of modern technologies. Such as the inclusion of 15 ADAS features, the latest dual-screen entertainment system, and IOV (Internet of Vehicle) which is usually present in the Omoda E5.

Slightly More Expensive Price

As for the price of the Chery Tiggo Cross, it will be announced at the IIMS 2025 event on the upcoming February 13.

“So at IIMS 2025, we will announce the price immediately. The estimate is above the Tiggo 5X, which at its launch was Rp 239 million to Rp 289 million, this one will be slightly higher,” said Ilham.

Chery is said to want to offer the best price for the new car. So that it can be well-received by the public.

As a reminder, the Chery Tiggo Cross is rumored to come in two variants, namely standard and the highest trim level.
