Chery X Introduced at GJAW 2025, Launching Next Year

KatadataOTO – At the Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW) 2025 event, the Chery X concept car was officially introduced. This model previously appeared in China under the name T1TP.

The car is touted to be Chery's answer to meet the needs of people who want a multipurpose vehicle. Moreover, the unit has been designed to adapt to road conditions in the country.

“The ability to handle real road conditions is an absolute must. With a ground clearance of 200 mm, this vehicle remains stable when passing through potholed to rocky roads,” said Budi Darmawan Jantania, Vice Country Director of PT Chery Sales Indonesia.

Not only that, he also explained that the Chery X has a wading depth of up to 700 mm. This allows the vehicle to remain stable when passing through puddles or light floods.

Although still a concept, Chery Sales Indonesia revealed its commitment to launching it in the country. Even the price of the car has started to be discussed.

“For the price range, it might be around Rp 800 million,” said Rifkie Setiawan, Head of Brand & Marketing Department of PT Chery Sales Indonesia.

In general, the Chery X comes with a bold appearance. The car uses the Tiger Roar Front Face concept, making it more assertive.

Moving to the rear, Chery also features Tiger Eye Tail Lights to give it a sharp and easily recognizable identity.

What's more, this unit is designed to meet the diverse needs of customers. This is because the Chery X is designed as an SUV but can be transformed into a double cabin according to driving needs.

For those who love adventure, the Chery X can also be converted into camper mode. Thus, the car can be equipped with a roof tent, a rear entertainment screen, and an external power source.

Behind its bold appearance, the Chinese manufacturer confirms it will equip the car with Chery Super Hybrid. This technology can switch to EV mode for short trips and hybrid mode to extend the range, thereby eliminating range anxiety.
