KatadataOTO – For the 17th time, Daihatsu has successfully defended its title as the second best-selling car manufacturer in Indonesia in 2025. This achievement is a positive note, considering the automotive market was under significant pressure last year.

Based on the data provided, Daihatsu managed to record retail sales of 137,835 units. This number actually represents a decrease compared to the previous year's achievement of 168,263 units.

This means Daihatsu's sales throughout 2025 saw a correction of 30,428 units. This difference will certainly be a note for the company to be able to grow again in 2026.

Moreover, in 2026, vehicle sales are predicted to have not yet recovered and could affect many sectors.

Throughout 2025, Daihatsu relied on its two Low Cost Green Car (LCGC) models, Sigra and Ayla, to drive sales. The two models sold a total of 47,901 units and captured a 36.6 percent market share in that segment.

Then, the Terios also recorded quite good figures with sales of 15,557 units. This number was enough to capture 12 percent of the total Low SUV market in the country.

Next, the Gran Max series, which is in the Low Commercial segment, also recorded positive results. This model sold a total of 61,871 units.

This number consists of the Gran Max Pick Up, which recorded 43,199 units (about 58% market share in the Low Pick Up segment). Meanwhile, the Minibus version sold 18,672 units (about 92% market share in the Semi-Commercial segment).

“We would like to thank all customers who have placed their trust in Daihatsu. This achievement reinforces the company's consistency in maintaining the number 2 position in national automotive sales for 17 consecutive years,” said Sri Agung Handayani, Marketing Director and Corporate Communication of PT Astra Daihatsu Motor.

She also committed to continuing to present more products and services in 2026. This step is certainly very important to prevent a sales decline from happening again.

In addition, a number of programs will also continue to be offered to make it easier for customers to purchase vehicles in the future.
