KatadataOTO – Car sales for automatic transmission Daihatsu cars in West Java are apparently not yet high. Most residents in the area are apparently still more confident using manual vehicles.

In fact, the sales difference is quite significant. This is because the market for automatic transmission cars in West Java only reaches 30 percent.

“In West Java, sales of manual transmission vehicles still dominate at up to 70 percent. While automatic transmissions are only about 30 percent,” said Arief Budianto, West Java Regional Head of PT Astra International Tbk. Daihatsu Sales Operation to the media.

This is due to many factors, including the wide variety of roads in the region. Steep inclines are considered easier to conquer using a manual transmission car than an automatic one.

Additionally, the traffic situation in West Java is not considered too congested, so people are still comfortable driving manual transmission cars.

“Manual transmissions also have a more stable resale value and are cheaper to maintain. So the vehicles are easier to resell, and this is a consideration for why people have not yet switched to automatic transmissions,” he then added.

Daihatsu itself indeed provides a variety of cars with manual and automatic transmission options on almost all of its models. Thanks to this, people can more easily choose according to their driving needs.

For example, the Sigra is Daihatsu's best-selling model in West Java. This model comes with automatic and manual transmission options on all variants, so people can choose according to their needs.

However, it does not rule out the possibility of changes in the future. This is because Daihatsu's automatic transmissions now also offer advantages that are quite popular with the public, especially in urban areas.

The Japanese manufacturer now uses CVT transmissions for several of its models, making driving comfort more optimal. In addition, Daihatsu has also ensured that the automatic transmission cars they produce can still climb optimally even in extreme places.
