KatadataOTO – Daihatsu sales in February 2025 recorded growth compared to the previous month. This achievement is expected to continue in the coming months so that the automotive industry can return to normal.
Based on data provided by the company, retail sales for Daihatsu in February 2025 amounted to 12,501 units. That figure is higher than the achievement in the previous month, which was 11,305 units.
Thanks to this, Daihatsu's total sales in the first 2 months of 2025 have reached 23,806 units. They also successfully secured the second position for the best-selling manufacturer in Indonesia with a market share of 17.8 percent.
Unfortunately, Daihatsu is no longer open about reporting its product sales. They only reported the three best-selling models that became the backbone during February 2025.
They revealed that the Daihatsu Sigra is still the model most in demand by customers. The LCGC MPV was successfully delivered to 7,368 customers, contributing 31 percent.
That number increased significantly compared to the previous month, which was only 3,467 units.
Meanwhile, the second best-selling car is the Gran Max pickup, with 6,547 units successfully delivered. That figure is enough for it to command 28 percent of Daihatsu's total sales.
This achievement grew compared to January 2025, when only 3,155 units were sold.
The Daihatsu Terios closes out the top three with sales reaching 2,681 units. The model accounts for 11 percent of the company's total retail sales.
“We are grateful that Daihatsu has continued to record a positive performance through February. We are committed to providing the best offers and services to customers, especially taking advantage of the momentum leading up to Eid al-Fitr,” said Tri Mulyono, Marketing and Customer Relations Division Head of PT Astra International Tbk. Daihatsu Sales Operation in his official statement (12/03).
However, amidst increasing sales, Daihatsu also has to face a challenge. This is because they have to recall 15,737 units of the Ayla and Rocky due to potential damage to the braking system.
Owners are asked to come to an official workshop to carry out an inspection and reprogram the Engine ECU software. The manufacturer found a potential malfunction that might occur, such as the brake pedal feeling heavier and harder than usual.
As a result, the braking distance becomes longer than it should be, potentially causing an accident.
