KatadataOTO – Daihatsu Sigra has successfully proven its superiority in the eyes of the Indonesian public. Based on Gaikindo data, the LCGC recorded wholesale figures of 2,951 units in July 2025 and became the second best-selling car nationally.
The high demand for this model is also felt in West Java. Arief Budianto, Head of the West Java Region for PT Astra International-Daihatsu Sales Operation, revealed that the Sigra has become the company's best-selling model in the province.
“The Sigra is Daihatsu's best-selling model in West Java, contributing 37 to 38 percent of the company's sales. In second place are the Gran Max pickup and the Terios,” said Arief Budianto, Head of the West Java Region for PT Astra International Tbk. Daihatsu Sales Operation, to the media some time ago.
According to him, the Daihatsu Sigra has various advantages that other models do not. One of them is its highly competitive price compared to other models.
“The Daihatsu Sigra is currently perhaps the most competitively priced three-row car compared to other models. So, many people are interested in using it,” he later said.
Outside of Bekasi and Bogor, the Bandung market is claimed to be the backbone of Daihatsu's sales in West Java. Impressively, the market in the Bandung area reaches 68 percent, far superior to other regions.
“So in West Java, there are clusters, namely Bandung, Cirebon, and Tasik. Of the three, Bandung is the largest, controlling 68 percent of the total market,” Arief later said.
Meanwhile, the Cirebon cluster market is the second largest with 20 percent, and the rest is controlled by the Tasik and Garut clusters.
The large market share captured by Daihatsu is inseparable from its extensive network in West Java. There are about 13 3S (Sales, Service, Sparepart) dealers throughout West Java.
