KatadataOTO – Denza, as a premium sub-brand of BYD, will be aggressive in the country in 2026. The Chinese manufacturer will introduce more new models.

This year, Denza is only marketing one premium model. The Denza D9 is here to challenge the Toyota Alphard as a feature-packed luxury MPV.

“We will introduce other Denza segments. Hopefully, there will be sedans, hatchbacks, SUVs, and even off-road SUVs,” said Eagle Zhou, President Director of PT BYD Indonesia in Jakarta (12/11).

Denza itself has previously showcased electric car models other than the D9. The Chinese manufacturer presented the Z9 GT at that time.

Even at the GIIAS 2025 event, the Yangwang U9, which is an electric supercar, was also presented.

It's interesting to review Denza's potential new products in Indonesia for next year. Especially since it was mentioned that there is one eco-friendly SUV unit with off-road capabilities.

In its home country, the Denza B5 and B8 SUVs are marketed under the name Fang Cheng Bao. The boxy-looking SUV has even entered the Australian market.

This means it already has a right-hand drive configuration. So it's just one step away from entering Indonesia.

The Denza B5 and B8 are sold in the Kangaroo Country with a PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) power source option.

At the front, the Denza B8 relies on a permanent magnet synchronous motor. It can produce 200 kW or 286 hp of power and 360 Nm of peak torque.

Then at the rear, its drive motor produces 300 kW or 402 hp of power and 400 Nm of peak torque.

As for the combustion engine, it has a 2.0 L capacity, producing 145 kW or 194 hp and 350 Nm of torque.

In total, it is stated that the Denza B8 can deliver a maximum power of 569 hp and 760 Nm of torque.

Then for the battery, it certainly relies on the BYD Blade LFP. Its capacity is stated to be 36.8 kWh.

This SUV can also hold 91 liters of fuel. Allowing it to travel a maximum distance of up to 1,040 km using the NEDC method.

The most prominent feature of these two Denza SUVs is the DMO (Dual Mode Off-Road) platform. This allows the vehicle to be equipped with a superior powertrain.
