Denza's second electric car model, the Z9 GT, is believed to enter Indonesia in the near future this year.
KatadataOTO – The high-performance car from BYD's premium sub-brand, the Denza Z9 GT, is strongly believed to be officially sold in Indonesia soon. For your information, the model was previously exhibited at IIMS (Indonesia International Motor Show) 2025.
Although BYD has not provided a definite launch time for the new product from Denza, salespeople have already started offering units to interested consumers.
Based on KatadataOTO's investigation on Thursday (22/05), the Denza Z9 GT is likely to debut at the GIIAS (Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show) 2025 event.
“It’s about to be launched, but it can already be ordered,” said a BYD salesperson when contacted by KatadataOTO on Thursday.
There is no official price yet, but he confirmed the estimated price is Rp 1.3 billion, more expensive than the MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle) already offered by Denza, the D9.
The Denza D9 is now sold for around Rp 950 million OTR (On The Road) Jakarta.
“The booking fee is around Rp 50 million. The unit will be launched in July,” said the salesperson.
The Denza Z9 GT attracted the attention of exhibition visitors by showcasing one of its flagship features, the crab walk, which allows the model to move diagonally or sideways.
In its home country, the crab walk plays an important role in assisting drivers when maneuvering, especially when parking.
According to BYD, many vehicles in China have a wheelbase that tends to be longer compared to models in other countries.
Speaking of the powertrain and performance, the Denza Z9 GT EV (Electric Vehicle) is equipped with a 100 kWh Blade battery.
With the support of an electric motor, the Denza Z9 GT is claimed to be able to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds. Meanwhile, its driving range is said to reach 630 km (CLTC) on a single charge.
In its home country, the Denza Z9 GT is available in a PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) option. However, it is believed that the variant that will be available in Indonesia later is the pure electric version, or BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle).
