Denza Z9 GT is confirmed to enter the Indonesian automotive market, becoming the second product after the D9 MPV.
KatadataOTO – Denza Z9 GT is confirmed to enter the Indonesian automotive market after the launch of the Denza D9 yesterday (22/01). This Shooting-brake type car will tempt the wealthy in the country.
On the sidelines of the Denza D9 launch, BYD Motor Indonesia also introduced its newest model, the Denza Z9 GT. Not only that, they also demonstrated the car's special ability to move sideways like a crab.
It turns out the vehicle is being prepared to be Denza's champion in the future. However, the exact launch date is not yet known.
“The Denza Z9 GT will very likely be the second model for the Indonesian market,” said Liu Xueliang, BYD Asia Pacific Auto Sales Division in Jakarta.
It is known that BYD is quite serious about developing advanced features in their products. At the GIIAS 2024 event, the manufacturer from China showcased the YangWang U8.
It wasn't just on display; the SUV demonstrated its 350o Tank Turn capability. KatadataOTO itself tried it directly in China some time ago.
The above feature was then further developed for the Denza Z9 GT. To support its rotation capability, the vehicle's rear tires can turn in the opposite direction of the front wheels.
It is said that this innovation was made to make it easier for drivers to park even in tight spaces.
For the global market, the Denza Z9 GT is offered in two powertrain options. PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Vehicle) and BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) variants are available.
However, it is likely that the pure electric version will enter Indonesia. This is in line with BYD Motor Indonesia's commitment to presenting green vehicles.
The Denza Z9 GT itself is a car designed by a former employee of renowned European brands such as Alfa Romeo, Audi, and Lamborghini. Wolfgang Egger is now known to be an important figure in BYD's passenger car design.
In terms of performance, it uses the e3 platform which relies on three drive motors. The car's power is claimed to reach 710 kW (952 hp).
As for acceleration, it only takes 3 seconds to go from a standstill to 100 km/h. This fact is believed to be equivalent to a 12-cylinder supercar.
In its home country, the Denza Z9 GT is marketed at a price of RMB 419,800 or around Rp 909 million. What do you think the price for the Indonesian market will be, KatadataOTO friends?
