Entry-Level BYD Seagull Priced at Around Rp 250 Million, Now Available for Order

KatadataOTO – BYD Seagull is believed to be debuting soon in Indonesia at the GIIAS (Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show) 2025 event at the end of July.

Although it has not been officially launched, a number of salespeople have started to reveal the price of the BYD Seagull in the country.

“(The price of the BYD Seagull) is around Rp 250 million to Rp 350 million,” said a BYD salesperson when contacted by KatadataOTO recently.

However, they were reluctant to explain in detail how many variants would be offered to consumers.

Looking at other models from the Chinese manufacturer, it is highly likely that this unit will come in two or three different variants.

Then, for consumers interested in purchasing the BYD Seagull, they will need to be patient with the waiting period.

“The waiting period for the BYD Seagull is at least two months,” said the brand's salesperson.

Referring to the information on its official website, the BYD Seagull is currently sold in two variants, offering a range of 305 km and 405 km on a single charge.

The Blade battery capacity for each BYD Seagull type is 30.08 kWh and 38.88 kWh. Equipped with an electric motor, the car is claimed to produce 55 kW (73.7 hp) of power and a peak torque of 135 Nm.

On the lowest trim, the BYD Seagull is equipped with 15-inch steel wheels. Meanwhile, the higher variant uses larger 16-inch aluminum alloy wheel hubs.

The BYD Seagull will liven up the selection of compact-sized electric cars, which was previously dominated by Wuling.

In terms of dimensions, the BYD Seagull has the potential to become a new rival to the Wuling BinguoEV. That model is currently sold for Rp 301 million to Rp 345 million on the road in Jakarta.

For comparison, the Wuling BinguoEV is offered in three variants. The two lower trims, Long Range AC and Long Range AC+DC, use a 31.9 kWh battery which is said to offer a range of 333 km.

Meanwhile, the highest variant is the BinguoEV Premium Range AC+DC, which uses a 37.9 kWh capacity battery with a range of up to 410 km.
