KatadataOTO – The construction of the Centralized Domestic Wastewater Management System (SPALD-T) in the TB Simatupang area is nearing completion. This has led to an improvement in traffic flow in the area compared to before.
One of the excavation sites where work has been completed is manhole-4 (MH-4) in front of Cibis Park. As a result, the road section can be used by vehicles normally, reducing traffic congestion.
“Work on manhole-4, in front of Cibis Park, was completed on time on October 7, 2025. We have dismantled the barriers, and traffic is flowing smoothly again as before,” said Untung Suryadi, President Director of Paljaya, as reported by Antara (09/10).
Meanwhile, work on manhole-7 (MH-7), located in front of the TB Simatupang gas station, is still ongoing. However, the excavation is targeted for completion on October 25, 2025.
“Progress on manhole-7 is going well, and the area is not as congested as manhole-4, so the traffic impact is relatively lighter,” said Untung.
Nevertheless, this project will continue until June 2026. Paljaya ensures that all work is carried out with attention to safety, smooth traffic flow, and environmental sustainability.
It was previously reported that TB Simatupang road experienced severe congestion due to excavation work from the Paljaya project. This condition caused the DKI Jakarta government to implement several traffic engineering measures.
One of these measures is the use of the JORR toll road shoulder to add a lane from the arterial road. It is hoped that this will make traffic flow more smoothly.
This traffic engineering is not in effect 24 hours a day, as the public can only use it from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM WIB. This time was chosen because it is the peak congestion period in the TB Simatupang area.
To be more effective, only cars are allowed to pass through. Motorcycles and trucks must use the existing route so that the concentration of congestion can be dispersed.
The policy is planned to last until the end of October 2025 because it is considered quite effective in reducing congestion. In fact, an average of 600 vehicles per day pass through the additional section.
This number has a significant impact on reducing traffic density, both on the toll road section and along TB Simatupang road.
