KatadataOTO – The DKI Jakarta government, through the Transportation Agency, will stop the traffic management on TB Simatupang road. The channelization of the Fatmawati 2 toll gate has also been officially stopped because the flow of vehicles is considered to have started to normalize.
This decision was announced via the Instagram account of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency. In the feed, it was stated that the traffic management would indeed only be implemented from September 15 to October 24, 2025.
This stoppage was carried out after various construction activities on TB Simatupang – RA. Kartini road were completed. The work carried out was excavation at the Fatmawati Intersection and the installation of clean water piping from PAM Jaya and PAL Jaya.
The completion of work in the area means that the lane that was previously closed has now been reopened for road users. Thus, the flow of vehicles can be more optimal, like under normal conditions.
During the traffic management period, the public was also observed to have changed their habit from using private cars to public transportation. This is evident from the increasing number of MRT Jakarta passengers.
Based on data from the Transportation Agency, the average number of passengers getting on and off at Fatmawati station increased by 23.97 percent. This figure is considered a significant increase.
In addition, the performance of public transport services during the implementation of traffic management also grew by 17.81 percent. This achievement was inseparable from the government's decision to add services to encourage people to switch from private vehicles.
It was previously reported that all construction work had caused severe traffic jams on TB Simatupang road. The situation worsened, especially during rush hours in the morning and evening.
Various methods were implemented by the government to reduce the density, but congestion still occurred. Especially since some points of the road are narrow, which slows down the flow of vehicles.
One method considered effective at the time was to utilize the leftmost lane of the toll road for public use free of charge. This increased the number of lanes and accelerated the flow of vehicles in the location.
