First GWM Tank Studio Officially Opens in Southeast Asia

KatadataOTO – The first GWM Tank Studio in Southeast Asia has officially launched in Indonesia. This facility was opened to provide a new experience for people who want to see the units in person.

This outlet is located at Agora Mall, Central Jakarta, and is designed to reflect the DNA of the GWM Tank line as a premium off-road SUV. Visual elements such as natural backgrounds and dynamic lighting add a unique impression for every visitor.

“The launch of the first GWM Tank Studio in Southeast Asia marks an important moment for us. This is a manifestation of our commitment to bringing a unique experience to the Indonesian market,” said Khoo Shao Tze, President Director of Inchcape Automotive Indonesia, in his official statement.

The GWM Tank Studio has an area of 479.8 m2 and is equipped with several facilities for customers, including a VIP Lounge. Not only that, customers can also enjoy exclusive programs and participate in various community events.

In addition, visitors can also see models that are already on sale, such as the Tank 300 HEV and Tank 500 HEV. Both models are GWM's mainstays in the country.

The GWM 300 HEV is designed to handle extreme road conditions. The model is equipped with a 2.0 Turbocharged direct-injection HEV engine paired with a 1.76 kWh capacity battery, enabling it to produce 342 hp and a maximum torque of 648 Nm.

For better performance, the car is equipped with a tough chassis and high ground clearance. Various features have also been embedded, such as front & rear axle differential locks, an 8-driving mode configuration, and a 360 intelligent off-road driving camera.

Meanwhile, the GWM Tank 500 HEV is the most expensive Chinese SUV in the country. The car has dimensions (L x W x H) of 5,078 mm x 1,934 mm x 1,905 mm.

Because it is adapted to tackle various road terrains, the GWM Tank 500 has a fairly high Ground Clearance of 224 mm. Interestingly, the car has a Water Wading Capacity, or a safe limit for passing through water puddles, of up to 800 mm.

This car is equipped with a 2,000 cc Turbo gasoline engine supported by hybrid technology. The unit is claimed to be able to produce a total power of 342 hp and a peak torque of 648 Nm.
