KatadataOTO – Various obstacles continue to haunt the Indonesian new car market. This has drawn a lot of attention from various parties.

The Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo) is no exception. They plan to revise the sales target for new four-wheeled vehicles.

"By the end of the year, we will revise the target. But I think, let's wait and see," said Jongkie Sugiarto, Chairman I of Gaikindo at GJAW 2025.

According to Jongkie, Gaikindo will hold a meeting soon. They want to gather a lot of input.

Whether they need to revise the new car sales target or not. Then determine the ideal figure.

"After GJAW 2025, we will gather with the members to determine the direction of the 2025 sales target," Jongkie continued.

However, Gaikindo is not yet willing to disclose the estimated new car sales figures until the end of the year.

They are still monitoring the market conditions. And observing the economic situation until the end of the year.

"So the figure has not been determined, all members have a voice," Jongkie emphasized.

As a reminder, as of October 2025, the domestic new car sales figure was 660 thousand units.

This means that to reach the target, sales in November and December must each reach 95 thousand units.

High Hopes at GJAW 2025

On the other hand, Gaikindo hopes that new car sales will be stimulated, as GJAW 2025 is currently being held.

On this occasion, GJAW 2025 focuses on sales programs that can make it easier for consumers to buy vehicles.

The exhibition is also supported by the presence of various leasing or financing companies with various attractive credit packages.

In addition, a variety of new cars are enlivening GJAW 2025. Ranging from the Changan Lumin EV, Deepal SO7 to the Toyota Veloz Hybrid.

Not to be missed is the newest variant of the Chery J6, the J6T, with a price tag of around Rp 500 million. Meanwhile, its sub-brand, Jetour, announced the official price for the gasoline-engine T2.

All of the products above are expected to stimulate the public to shop for new vehicles during GJAW 2025.

So it remains to be seen how effective the GJAW 2025 event will be in boosting new car sales.

This could help Gaikindo achieve the target they will set later.
