KatadataOTO – Geely claims to have successfully recorded 866 bookings at the GIIAS 2025 event. The Chinese manufacturer considers their achievement quite positive, considering this is the first time they have participated in the exhibition.
However, they did not specify the number of orders for each model. This is quite unfortunate, as Geely displayed a variety of products during the exhibition.
“At GIIAS 2025, we directly heard feedback and curiosity from visitors about our product lineup. From the front trunk of the Geely Xingyuan, the efficiency of the Geely Starray EM-I, to the L380. We are proud to have recorded 866 bookings,” said Constantinus Herlijoso, Sales & Channel Development Director of Geely Auto Indonesia.
Geely indeed used the exhibition not only for sales but also to listen to feedback on the vehicles they sell. Thus, it is hoped that the car lineup can meet the driving needs of the public.
During GIIAS 2025, Geely not only displayed the EX5, which they already sell, but also three global models: Xingyuan, Starray EM-I, and L380. All three are planned to be brought to Indonesia in the future.
In fact, the Geely Starray EM-I is confirmed to enter the country in the near future. They have also started assembly trials at the Handal Indonesia Motor production facility.
“The plan is for production to take place in the third quarter of this year and distribution to run in the fourth quarter,” said Yusuf Anshori, Brand Director of Geely Auto Indonesia, some time ago.
During GIIAS 2025, the Geely Starray EM-I was also available for customers to order.
Meanwhile, the Xingyuan is also confirmed to launch this year, although its timing will be slightly later than the Starray EM-I. This is because the car, believed to be a challenger to the BYD Atto 3, will only go on sale at the end of 2025.
“The Geely Xingyuan will be assembled locally because we also want to pursue TKDN (Local Content Level) to get incentives from the government,” Yusuf affirmed.
The car will also come with a different name, so it is hoped it will be more easily accepted by the public.
