Geely Starship 7 PHEV to Challenge Chery Tiggo 8 CSH at GIIAS 2025

KatadataOTO – The GIIAS (Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show) 2025 exhibition will be enlivened by many new products from Chinese manufacturers.

After Chery brought its PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle), it's Geely's turn, which is rumored to be bringing the Geely Starship 7 to GIIAS 2025.

Based on KatadataOTO's findings, Geely will bring a total of two new models to be introduced to consumers.

The Geely Starship 7 is Geely's first PHEV, with a slightly larger size compared to the Chery Tiggo 8 CSH (Chery Super Hybrid).

Its length is 4,740mm, width is 1,905 mm, height is 1,685 mm, and its wheelbase is 2,755 mm. The Geely Starship 7's trunk capacity reaches 528 liters, and can expand to 2,065 liters if the rear seats are folded.

“The one coming to GIIAS 2025 is the PHEV, the Starship 7,” said a Geely salesperson when contacted by KatadataOTO on Monday (14/07).

However, they could not yet confirm whether the Geely Starship 7 will be sold directly to consumers or just introduced.

Therefore, as of now, there is no further information regarding the price of the Geely Starship 7 if it launches in Indonesia later.

But to give an idea, the Geely Starship 7 in China is offered for 107,800 yuan-143,800 yuan. When converted, this is equivalent to Rp 244.9 million-Rp 326 million.

For your information, the Geely Starship 7 is equipped with the latest PHEV technology named the Thor PHEV System.

Entering the cabin, the interior is dominated by a light brown color and uses a two-spoke steering wheel.

There is a 14.6-inch head unit screen in the center to control various vehicle features. Meanwhile, the driver is presented with a 10.2-inch instrument panel and a 13.8-inch head-up display.

The car is equipped with a 1,500 cc engine  combined with an electric motor and two LFO battery options, with capacities of 8.5 kWh and 19.09 kWh.

Each of these power sources is claimed to offer a pure electric range of 55 km and 120 km, respectively, based on the CLTC testing method.

With a full battery and fuel tank, the Geely Starship 7 is claimed to be able to travel up to 1,420 km. Meanwhile, its claimed fuel consumption is 26.67 km/liter.
