The Geely Starwish is rumored to be priced similarly to the BYD Seagull, with both set to debut at GIIAS 2025.
KatadataOTO – Geely Starwish is reportedly ready to enter the Indonesian market through the GIIAS (Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show) 2025 event.
This was revealed when a Geely salesperson began taking pre-orders ahead of GIIAS 2025. The price range has also been revealed.
“The Geely Starwish price is in the range of Rp 250 million to Rp 300 million. It will definitely be below the EX5,” said a Geely salesperson when contacted by KatadataOTO on Tuesday (15/07).
Interested consumers can place an order before GIIAS 2025. However, there is no information yet regarding the indent or waiting time.
In the same class, the price range of the Geely Starwish will not be much different from the latest product, the BYD Seagull.
The Seagull will debut alongside the Geely Starwish at GIIAS 2025. According to a BYD salesperson, its price tag is around Rp 250 million.
For your information, the Geely Starwish is a compact electric car with dimensions of L x W x H at 4,135 mm x 1,805 mm x 1,570 mm.
The use of the GEA (Global Intelligent Electric Architecture) platform allows the Geely Starwish to be compatible with two battery capacity options: 30.12 kWh and 40.16 kWh.
Based on the CLTC testing method, each battery offers a range of 310 km and 410 km on a single charge.
A competitor that has already been marketed in Indonesia is the Wuling BinguoEV. The electric car is now only available with one battery option offering a range of 333 km.
Meanwhile, the other variant with a larger battery and a 410 km range has been discontinued. The price of the Wuling BinguoEV as of July 2025 starts from Rp 279 million to Rp 332 million on the road in Jakarta.
On the other hand, the BYD Seagull is equipped with two battery options with capacities of 30.08 kWh and 38.88 kWh. Their ranges are 305 km and 405 km.
The electric motor in the BYD Seagull is claimed to allow the car to produce 55 kW of power, equivalent to 73.7 hp, with a peak torque of 135 Nm.
The price of the highest-spec BYD Seagull is predicted to be around Rp 350 million, still more expensive than the estimated price of the top Geely Starwish variant.
Both new models from the Chinese manufacturer can be seen in person at the GIIAS 2025 event towards the end of July.
