KatadataOTO – The second factory of PT HIM (Handal Indonesia Motor) is reported to start operations in February 2025. The new production facility is located in Purwakarta, West Java.

It has a capacity of up to 1,800 car units per month. It is also claimed that six brands will utilize their facilities.

Therefore, Handal admits to have made various preparations. Including bringing in the workforce.

“So now I am training (employees), for the move to Purwakarta later. You can't just say recruit today and they start work immediately,” said Jongkie Sugiarto, Vice President Commissioner of PT HIM when met in Jakarta some time ago.

Jongkie admitted this was done to meet the standards they have set. So they can produce cars of the best quality.

However, he could not yet disclose the number of workers prepared to fill the new Handal factory.

“I don't know the exact number, but many of the current employees in Bekasi will be brought to Purwakarta,” Jongkie added.

He further stated that a number of positions are being prepared. For example, head of production and so on.

“Of course there will be leaders and supervisors. Otherwise, who will supervise there,” the man affirmed.

For your information, the HIM factory in Purwakarta will be the backbone. Especially for models assembled with the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) and SKD (Semi Knocked Down) schemes.

“There will be various kinds (of new cars produced at Handal), such as ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) and electric. So it will be quite busy next year,” he said.

For your information, Handal's new factory is located in the IIP (Integrated Industrial Park) area, with a land area of about 38 hectares.

Much larger than the production facility in Pondok Ungu, Bekasi, which only has an area of 12 hectares.

Thus, an increasingly diverse range of four-wheeled vehicles will be made in the country in the near future.
