KatadataOTO – Honda Prospect Motor sees that the demand for SUVs will increase in February. This is because cars in this segment have various advantages that can meet the needs during the Lebaran homecoming season at the end of March 2025.
At that time, people will generally look for large-capacity vehicles to accommodate their journeys.
“SUVs are in demand by consumers due to advantages such as large capacity and a spacious cabin, making them comfortable for long-distance travel. In addition, vehicles in this segment also have the ability to handle various road conditions, including sub-urban areas,” said Yusak Billy, Sales & Marketing and After Sales Director of PT Honda Prospect Motor to KatadataOTO (03/01).
The high demand ahead of Lebaran is also accompanied by the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) from February 13 to 23, 2025. They will leverage this event to increase vehicle orders.
“At IIMS 2025, we are presenting various sales programs to provide added value for consumers. In addition, Honda offers various conveniences such as light installment programs and after-sales services,” he added.
In 2024, Honda's sales faced pressure compared to 2023. This is evident from their retail sales figure, which recorded 103,023 units.
This figure is down by 24,987 units compared to last year's achievement. At that time, they achieved a sales figure of 128,010 units.
Meanwhile, for wholesales, Honda recorded a figure of 94,742 units, a decrease of 44,225 units from the same period last year, which reached 138,967 units.
Next, the Honda HR-V recorded retail sales of 17,865 units. This figure is 6,871 units lower than the previous 24,736 units.
Pressure was also seen on the Honda WR-V, which achieved retail sales of 13,820 units. This figure is considered small because last year the model was able to record a figure of 18,046, or 4,226 more than now.
