KatadataOTO – PT Hyundai Motors Indonesia (HMID), has prepared the Hyundai Promise service to accommodate consumers when they want to buy a used car.

There are several things claimed to be different from facilities owned by other brands, such as quality assurance and competitive selling prices.

According to Hyundai, the resale price of their vehicle lineup was previously 50 percent of the new unit's price tag.

However, thanks to a comprehensive guarantee, used cars from Hyundai are claimed to retain a resale value of 70 percent. This means there is only a 30 percent decrease.

“Our main goal is to provide a new standard for customers when they are looking for a quality used Hyundai car,” said Wahyu Seto, General Manager of Hyundai Mobility Solutions in Jakarta, on Wednesday (15/10).

Speaking of the types of used Hyundai cars that consumers are interested in, Seto revealed that the percentage is 50-50 between gasoline-powered vehicles and Electric Vehicles (EVs).

This also shows a positive consumer response to the presence of electric cars.

“After many people walk-in (to the Hyundai Promise facility), a lot of them are looking for EVs, especially the Ioniq 5, (because there is) a direct guarantee from HMID,” said Seto.

Based on KatadataOTO's observations at the location, the price of a used Hyundai Ioniq 5 starts from Rp 500 million, applicable for both cash and credit payments.

“One of our transparencies is in the selling price. At Hyundai Promise, the price is the same (for cash and credit),” he emphasized.

For your information, the units sold at the Hyundai Promise facility are former operational or test drive vehicles.

Therefore, the quality and track record of each vehicle can be monitored, adding peace of mind for consumers who want to buy a used Hyundai car.

The models sold are also varied. For electric cars, there are the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6, and Kona Electric.
