KatadataOTO – PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) has a flagship model in the commercial segment, the Carry. The pickup truck still contributes significant sales figures for Suzuki.

Even at the GIIAS 2025 exhibition, the unit was still displayed at the booth for visitors to see directly.

But what's unique is that the Suzuki Carry unit at the booth was transformed into a special mobile charger for electric vehicles.

The modified result was presented alongside the Suzuki eVitara electric car, a model that previously debuted domestically as the eVX prototype.

This turned out to be one of Suzuki's strategies to keep the Carry relevant amidst the development of the automotive industry and electrification or environmentally friendly vehicles.

“We created this Carry mobile charging concept as a reference to support electrification in the future,” said Harold Donnel, 4W Marketing Director of PT SIS in Tangerang recently.

According to Harold, the mobile charging version of the Suzuki Carry has a similar concept to emergency road assistance (ERA) to help electric cars when they run out of power on the road.

This is part of Suzuki's plan to utilize the Carry as a support vehicle when the eVitara electric car is officially launched in Indonesia.

“This is one of Suzuki's ideological contributions to further enhance electrification, especially with the eVitara, in the Indonesian automotive industry,” Harold emphasized.

It should be noted that the Suzuki Carry at GIIAS 2025 is expected to bring the commercial vehicle closer to retail consumers.

Although it is in the commercial segment, Suzuki stated that it does not rule out the possibility of the Carry reaching more new customers.

“From the top to the bottom layer, we want consumers or the public to be able to consume Suzuki products. This is in line with our corporate value,” said Harold.

Suzuki presented its flagship vehicle lineup at the booth during GIIAS 2025. There were electrification products such as the Grand Vitara Hybrid, Ertiga Hybrid, XL7 Hybrid, and Fronx Hybrid.

In the front area was the Jimny, followed by the legendary Suzuki APV, which had attracted attention at IIMS 2025.
