KatadataOTO – Mexico's policy to implement a protectionist system in its country has the potential to affect Suzuki Indonesia. This is because the country is one of the export markets with a fairly large volume.

Therefore, it is not impossible that in 2026, the number of Suzuki exports from Indonesia to that country will decrease.

“In 2025, vehicle shipments to Mexico contributed 18 percent of Suzuki Indonesia's total exports. Therefore, the implementation of new regulations has the potential to decrease export volume,” said Wijananto Jati Pradono, Production Planning Control & Export General Manager - PT Suzuki Indomobil Motor to KatadataOTO (09/01).

The models they have already shipped include the Suzuki Ertiga, XL7, and APV. Thousands of units of these three models have even been shipped from January to November 2025.

Nevertheless, Suzuki remains optimistic about the vehicle export market in 2026, especially in Mexico. This is because, until now, there has been no decrease in demand in the Latin American region.

“As for some of Suzuki Indonesia's export destinations to the Latin American region, they include Colombia, Mexico, Chile, Peru, and Bolivia. According to our data, to date, there have been no requests to reduce order volumes from these countries,” he affirmed.

It should be noted that Suzuki Indonesia is a car manufacturer that routinely exports its products to various countries. The company with the 'S' logo has even become the fifth-largest contributor to the national export market.

From January to November, they have shipped 28,564 units to various countries. This number is an increase of 11,120 units compared to the same period the previous year, which was only 17,344 units.

Suzuki also controls 6 percent of the total national export market. This number certainly has the potential to increase in 2026 due to the arrival of new products to be shipped, such as the Suzuki Fronx.

Based on Gaikindo data, the model has been shipped to various countries, especially in Southeast Asia. The Philippines, Thailand, and Laos are countries that are already enjoying the performance of the Suzuki Fronx.

The number of destination countries for Suzuki Fronx exports is also certain to increase over time.
