KatadataOTO – Suzuki Indonesia acknowledges that in 2026 they will face a number of challenges, especially in the export market. This is due to several countries, such as Mexico, implementing protectionist systems to safeguard their domestic industries.

Nevertheless, the Japanese manufacturer revealed that it will continue to strive for Indonesian-made cars to be accepted in various countries.

“We see the potential for business sustainability by exporting to several new destination countries,” said Wijananto Jati Pradono, Production Planning Control & Export General Manager of PT Suzuki Indomobil Motor to KatadataOTO some time ago.

Unfortunately, he did not specify which countries would be the new targets. However, they can at least maintain their current market.

“We have a target for the combined CBU and CKD export volume to grow above the 2025 achievement, or around 40 thousand units,” he later stated.

It should be noted that based on Gaikindo data from January to November 2026, Suzuki has exported at least 18,464 CBU cars. This number is equivalent to 6 percent of the total national vehicle shipments, which amounted to 473,971 units.

Shipments were made to 100 countries, covering regions such as Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, Oceania, Africa, and Europe.

The newest model they export is the Suzuki Fronx. They have been shipping this model to several Southeast Asian countries since November 2025.

“Currently, the destinations for the Fronx model are still in Southeast Asia. Such as Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam,” said Domu Arisanto, Manager of Export at PT SIM on a separate occasion.

He is also optimistic that the Fronx shipped from Indonesia can reach 30,000 units by 2027.

Besides exporting cars as CBU, Suzuki also exports units in a disassembled state or Completely Knock Down (CKD). From January to November 2025, they have already shipped 19,488 sets of vehicles.

In total, during the 11 months of 2025, they have released 37,952 units.
