KatadataOTO – Jaecoo Indonesia apologizes to customers for the long unit delivery times. The apology was delivered directly by Zeng Shuo, President Director of Chery Group Indonesia, this afternoon.

He admitted to having anticipated that the Jaecoo J5 EV would be in high demand. However, the number of orders is claimed to have exceeded initial calculations.

“To date, we have delivered 3,000 units, but this only fulfills orders up to November 2025. For that, we extend our apologies to consumers who have not yet received their vehicles,” he said (24/01).

In the presentation delivered, as of December 31, 2025, a total of 12 thousand units of the Jaecoo J5 EV have been ordered. This means there are still around 9,000 units that have not been delivered to customers.

“We are trying to catch up. Please give us a little time,” he added.

Meanwhile, Willy revealed that his party has mapped out the vehicle delivery timeline. For customers who ordered their vehicles in 2025, production is underway and will be completed before Lebaran 2026.

“After that, within two days, the units will be sent to dealers located in Jabodetabek, seven days for dealers on the island of Java, and 12 days for other islands. At the outlet, a Pre-Delivery Inspection will be carried out for two days, and then it will be handed over to the customer the following day,” said Willy Winawan, Head of Sales for Jaecoo Indonesia.

With this, it is hoped that customers will still be able to use their new vehicles during the 2026 Lebaran homecoming season.

It should be noted that the Jaecoo J5 EV is equipped with an electric motor with a power of 155 kW (207.8 hp) and a peak torque of 288 Nm. This power is supplied by a 60.9 kWh battery.

This combination allows the car to travel up to 461 kilometers (NEDC) on a single full charge. Owners also don't need to worry about charging, as a 130 kW fast-charging feature is available.

Charging from 30 percent to 80 percent only takes at least 28 minutes. At its launch, the price was considered competitive at Rp 299.9 million.

This price tag is likely to increase in 2026 because the government has discontinued incentives for electric cars.
