KatadataOTOHyundai Motors is facing the threat of a strike. The action will be carried out simultaneously by thousands of employees of the South Korean brand.

Citing Reuters on Thursday (04/09), the Hyundai workers' union plans to hold this action for three days.

“The workers will walk off the job for two hours on Wednesday and Thursday. Then for four hours on Friday,” the report stated.

This action is being taken as a form of protest by thousands of employees. Because they are demanding a salary or wage increase.

The union is also demanding a change to the retirement age at the Hyundai factory. To 64 years from the legally mandated 60 years.

They are also demanding a reduction in the workweek, to just 4.5 days a week.

It doesn't stop there; the company is being asked to pay a bonus of 30 percent of Hyundai's 2024 net profit.

In the same report, the Hyundai employees' strike comes after a majority of union members voted on August 25.

They gave their support to hold this action. As a result, thousands of employees will take part.

Moreover, this expression of opinion is taking place at three Hyundai factories, namely those in Ulsan, Jeonju, and Asan.

Of course, the company must listen to the aspirations of the workers' union. Considering that the production of several cars will be affected.

For example, the Hyundai Kona, Tucson, Santa Fe, Palisade, Sonata, and Grandeur. In addition, the strike is also expected to hinder the production process of the Genesis G70, G80, G90, GV60, GV70, and GV80.

Therefore, the South Korean manufacturer will have to open a space for discussion with the workers.

Because the Motor Vehicle Sales Value (NJKB) of the Hyundai Ioniq 9 has been registered, with the code IONIQ 9 EV CAL 4X4AT.

The NJKB of this electric car has a value of up to Rp 699 million. However, this figure is not the price that will be offered to consumers.

There are still a number of taxes that must be borne by buyers in the country. So the price tag above is certain to be higher.
