Hyundai Expands Warranty Program to Consumers, Here Are the Details

KatadataOTO – PT HMID (Hyundai Motors Indonesia) has prepared a program to add peace of mind for consumers when driving and using Hyundai cars.

Although it has been implemented for the past few years, Hyundai is expanding its guarantee program, one of which is the replacement of a new car if it is damaged due to an accident.

Previously, the Hyundai Guarantee program for replacing a car with a new unit was valid if the vehicle sustained damage of at least 70 percent of the vehicle's price.

It was then only applied to certain models, namely Stargazer, Stargazer X, Creta, New Kona Electric, Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6.

“This year, the Hyundai Guarantee program applies to all (models), including the newly launched Hyundai Venue,” said Thomas Sigit Pamungkas, Head of Sales Strategy at PT HMID on the sidelines of IIMS 2025, Thursday (20/2).

He explained that the program is intended to complement vehicle protection insurance. So consumers also have a guarantee while traveling in a Hyundai vehicle.

“For example, regarding medical coverage, this includes the driver and passengers,” said Thomas.

Then if an accident occurs, there is a guarantee of medical costs for consumers, namely the driver and passengers in the car, with a maximum amount of Rp 100 million per person, according to the vehicle's capacity.

“For example, if the capacity is six but there are 10 passengers, then only six are covered, according to the capacity,” he emphasized.

It was further explained that the car damage guarantee is valid if there is a traffic accident report. Then the driver involved in the accident must have a valid driver's license.

Cars used specifically for rental purposes are also still covered by the Hyundai guarantee, as long as the purchase is made in an individual's name, not a company's.

“This is for the first one-year period. This program runs for one year from the first purchase and not due to criminal acts,” Thomas emphasized.
