The Hyundai Stargazer facelift is reportedly registered in Indonesia under the variant name Carten, and could launch this year.
KatadataOTO – The Hyundai Stargazer family car first launched in the country at the GIIAS (Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show) 2022 event. Following that, a number of variations and updates were also introduced.
For example, the SUV (sport utility vehicle) crossover version, the Stargazer X. Then, the latest at IIMS (Indonesia International Motor Show) 2025, the Essential Tech type was introduced with the addition of Bluelink.
Having not received an exterior update since its debut in 2022, Hyundai is opening up the possibility of a Stargazer facelift this year.
On the official Samsat PKB website, several new variants are listed using the Carten variant name, which is strongly suspected to be a refresh of the Stargazer.
“Many have asked what products we will release, about the registered NJKB (motor vehicle sales value), and so on. We will see which ones are a priority to be introduced,” said Fransiscus Soerjopranoto, Chief Operating Officer of PT HMID (Hyundai Motors Indonesia) in Jakarta some time ago.
The car, strongly suspected to be the Stargazer facelift, was indeed seen being road-tested in its home country, South Korea, some time ago.
Still wrapped in camouflage, a quick glance shows that the changes are in the headlight and taillight design.
However, Frans was still reluctant to speak further about the launch date of the Stargazer facelift.
However, he confirmed that the newest models from Hyundai will be focused on local production. In total, there will be 15 new products hitting the roads in the country throughout 2025.
“We want the production to be local, in Indonesia. The production capacity is still there,” Frans emphasized.
Referring to the information on the Samsat-PKB website, the sales value of the refreshed Stargazer version is recorded from Rp 174 million to Rp 221 million.
It should be noted that this figure does not include other fees and taxes, or the final selling price benchmark.
For comparison, the Stargazer is currently sold to consumers with a price tag starting from Rp 258.2 million. Here we summarize the complete list.
