The Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric car receives a discount of approximately Rp 200 million during GJAW 2025, valid at the exhibition.
KatadataOTO – Many electric car models are enlivening the GJAW 2025 exhibition at ICE BSD, Tangerang. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is no exception.
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is one of the pioneers of electric cars in Indonesia to receive government incentives, as it has met the minimum 40 percent Local Content Level (TKDN) criteria.
However, following the influx of Chinese electric cars, the Hyundai Ioniq 5's popularity has slowly declined. Dealers have started offering discounts on the Electric Vehicle (EV) to attract buyers.
“(The Ioniq 5) priced at Rp 800 million is now down to Rp 600 million. (The discount) is over almost Rp 200 million,” said a Hyundai salesperson when met by KatadataOTO in Tangerang, Thursday (27/11).
According to him, the massive price cuts are indeed related to the presence of Chinese products. It should be noted that the latest range of Chinese electric cars are offered from Rp 100 million to Rp 500 million.
This poses a major challenge for other manufacturers, including those from Korea and Japan, in facing this tight price competition.
If consumers are interested, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 can be seen at the booth during GJAW 2025. A test drive unit is also available for customers who want to try it first.
For your information, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is an electric car built on the E-GMP platform, which is specific to electric vehicles, offering a flat floor and a long wheelbase, making the cabin feel spacious.
This model is a 5-seater Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV). The Standard Range type is equipped with a 58 kWh battery with a range of about 384 km.
Meanwhile, the higher variant, the Long Range, uses a larger 72.6 kWh battery, enabling the Hyundai Ioniq 5 to travel up to 481 km on a single charge.
This electric car is equipped with V2L or Vehicle to Load technology. It can supply up to 3,600 watts of power to run home electronic devices to support activities, emergency situations, or daily needs.
Other embedded technologies include Hyundai Bluelink, which provides connectivity and remote vehicle control via a smart device.
Lastly, there is Hyundai SmartSense, an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) that includes Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and Surround View Monitor.
