KatadataOTO – Completing the new product lineup of PT HMID (Hyundai Motors Indonesia) in the country, the electric car Hyundai Ioniq 5 Limited Edition was officially launched for consumers on Thursday (20/03).

The model is available in a limited quantity of only 50 units in Indonesia. Its exterior design is the same as its predecessor, but the cabin is made more elegant and has a distinctive batik nuance.

Especially on the door trim and seats. The interior is dominated by white with a touch of batik motifs in several parts.

Hyundai revealed that so far, the public's reception of the Ioniq 5 Batik electric car has been very positive. Additionally, there is another reason cited for the launch of this limited edition version.

“We see that Indonesian consumers indeed want to own a limited (model). So we prepared only 50 units,” said Fransiscus Soerjopranoto, Chief Operating Officer of PT HMID, when met in Jakarta on Thursday.

He continued that many Hyundai customers like the standard look of the Ioniq 5, but prefer more personalization in the interior.

The presence of the Ioniq 5 Limited Edition is expected to meet consumer demand for a special edition vehicle produced in limited quantities in Indonesia.

“The input was from our car clinic or study. For the exterior, they want it to be like the regular Ioniq 5, but for the interior, they want to have a batik nuance,” said Frans.

From the exterior, there are not many changes besides the addition of a batik motif on the Ioniq 5's fascia area, as well as brown-colored wheels with a batik motif in the center.

The most noticeable changes are in the electric car's cabin. This is because the Kawung batik motif has been applied to the dashboard, seats, and door trim.

There are no changes to the powertrain. The battery is a 72.6 kWh lithium-ion unit paired with a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor and a Single Speed Reduction Gear transmission.

Thanks to this configuration, the Ioniq 5 is claimed to produce 214 hp and a peak torque of 350 Nm. Meanwhile, acceleration from 0-100 km/h can be achieved in just 7.4 seconds.

The price of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 ranges from Rp 738.3 million to Rp 844.6 million. PT HMID has not yet announced the price for the Ioniq 5 Limited Edition.
