KatadataOTO – HMID (Hyundai Motors Indonesia) is holding a recall campaign for a number of their electric cars in the country.

These include the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6, and Genesis G80 EV owned by consumers who are on the Hyundai Global VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) list.

It is said that the decision is related to a software update for the ICCU (Integrated Charge Control Unit) component.

"In an effort to improve the quality of battery charging to be more optimal in order to provide a more comfortable and worry-free driving experience for customers," Hyundai wrote in an official statement, Friday (09/05).

Meanwhile, Fransiscus Soerjopranoto, COO (Chief Operating Officer) of HMID, said that they always strive to prioritize customers.

In addition, this South Korean brand focuses on the safety and comfort of Hyundai Ioniq 6, Ioniq 5, and Genesis G80 EV users.

Therefore, they are updating the ICCU component software, making charging easier for the journeys of Hyundai EV (Electric Vehicle) users.

"We will continue to intensively monitor the process to ensure customer safety and comfort while the software update on the ICCU component is ongoing," said Frans.

He further stated that Hyundai electric car users can perform the software update quite easily.

Such as by visiting an official Hyundai dealer to get a thorough inspection for free.

The process includes inspection and work, which only takes approximately 20 minutes.

The work will be carried out by certified technicians from Hyundai Global.

Meanwhile, HMID has also been actively notifying owners of the Hyundai Ioiniq 5, Ioniq 6, and Genesis G80 EV who need to update the software on the ICCU component.
