KatadataOTO – PT Hyundai Motors Indonesia (HMID) secured 3,017 Vehicle Order Letters (SPK) during the GIIAS 2025 event. The newest model, the Stargazer Cartenz, is said to have dominated.

It should be noted that Hyundai brought a number of its flagship models during the exhibition, while also launching the Stargazer Cartenz and Cartenz X.

“The high interest in Hyundai products at GIIAS 2025 reflects a growing appreciation for the innovation and technology we offer, especially the Stargazer Cartenz,” said Fransiscus Soerjopranoto, Chief Operating Officer of PT HMID in an official statement, quoted on Wednesday (13/08).

He further emphasized that Hyundai is committed to continuing to provide the best products and services for its customers.

Unfortunately, Hyundai was reluctant to disclose the detailed order numbers per model. However, on a different occasion, Frans said that about 50 percent of the total SPK was for the Stargazer Cartenz.

Besides the Stargazer Cartenz, it was explained that other models contributing to the orders were the Creta facelift and the latest generation Palisade.

The Palisade and Santa Fe Hybrid were two models that became an attraction during GIIAS 2025. Both were widely test-driven by customers in the test drive area at ICE BSD, Tangerang.

However, when viewed as a whole, Hyundai's SPK figure at GIIAS 2025 decreased by about 16.3 percent from 3,606 units at GIIAS 2024. Just like at this year's event, the Stargazer was the main contributor in demand by consumers.

A Hyundai representative did not deny that there is indeed a decline. For that reason, they will implement a strategy of introducing new models according to consumer needs and strengthening their services.

“In the first and second quarters, we saw a downward trend in the market. That's why we are adapting; a strategy cannot remain static,” said Frans in Tangerang.

The South Korean manufacturer also said it will adjust its sales targets according to current market conditions.

“That's what we are doing, an adjustment in terms of volume. But in terms of market share, we will maintain it,” he asserted.
