KatadataOTO – Recently, a post circulated showing a unit of a Hyundai Stargazer starting by itself while parked.

According to the owner's statement, CCTV footage capturing the garage area showed the head unit of their Hyundai Stargazer suddenly activating.

“This is a Hyundai car that doesn't have Bluelink installed, but it can still be started from the outside with the remote on the key,” wrote the owner on their personal social media account, @theaoct, quoted Thursday (08/01).

It should be noted that Bluelink is a smart connectivity feature that connects the owner to their vehicle via a smart device.

A short time later, the car's engine also started. This happened even though the car can only be activated from the outside using the button on the car key.

During the incident, the owner revealed that the key was inside the car. A technician said there are several suspected factors causing this.

“The module has started to error, so the (car) can start on its own. Second, there is a software update option from the head unit that caused the car to start,” said Lung Lung, Owner of Dokter Mobil to KatadataOTO, Thursday (08/01).

Therefore, owners should immediately perform a thorough check at an official workshop to avoid unwanted incidents.

Furthermore, avoid the habit of storing the car key inside the vehicle when the car is not in use, considering the Hyundai Stargazer already uses a keyless feature.

This means there is a possibility that the car's system detected the presence of the fob in the vehicle's cabin, causing the engine to start automatically.

“Never store the car key inside the car itself when it is not in use,” said Lung Lung.

For your information, the Hyundai Stargazer is a Low Multi-Purpose Vehicle (LMPV) that was launched in Indonesia back in 2022.

Currently, the model has been updated with the name Cartenz. There is also a variant with a sportier look, namely the Stargazer X.

The Hyundai Stargazer Cartenz has also undergone quite noticeable changes, especially at the front. However, the older version is still sold with a price starting from IDR 258 million on the road in Jakarta, for both the Stargazer and Stargazer X.
