KatadataOTO – The use of electric cars is predicted to increase during the homecoming for Eid 2025. It is said that 21,570 EVs (Electric Vehicles) will be used.

The number above is said to increase by up to 500 percent. This is because in 2024, only 4,314 electric four-wheeled vehicles were used by the public to return to their hometowns.

This phenomenon has the potential to cause quite long queues at SPKLU (Public Electric Vehicle Charging Station) areas on the Trans-Java Toll Road.

Considering the number of charging stations on the toll road is still not enough to accommodate the public's needs.

Hyundai Gowa is also trying to pamper its consumers. They will provide mobile charging during the holiday.

“If there are EV consumers who need it, they can call this service (mobile charging),” said Widi Mulyadi, Aftersales Manager of Hyundai Gowa in South Jakarta, on Tuesday (11/03).

Widi explained that the facility is spread across several locations. Including at Hyundai Gowa's on-call workshops.

It can also be found at the rest area km 57. So consumers who want to go on the homecoming trip using a Hyundai electric car do not need to worry.

If you experience problems running out of power during the trip, you can directly call Hyundai Gowa's mobile charging service.

“We will help charge their vehicles. But not to full, just enough to find the nearest SPKLU,” Widi said.

Meanwhile, to use this facility, consumers only need to press the Bluelink button in their respective vehicles.

In addition, owners of the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6, and Kona Electric can contact the Hyundai Gowa call center.

Not Recommended to Let Electric Cars Run Out of Power

Nevertheless, the public is urged not to let their electric cars run out of power when used for the 2025 Eid homecoming.

It is recommended to charge when the battery condition reaches 20 percent. This is to maintain its lifespan.

If it is too often forced to run out of power, it will degrade the quality of the electric car's battery. So its performance will no longer be optimal.

Therefore, make preparations before going on the homecoming trip using an EV. ensure that the route you take has SPKLUs available.

Lastly, do not delay charging. Charge immediately when you find a charging station to anticipate unexpected events during the journey.
