KatadataOTO – PT. Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk is ready to give a 20 percent toll rate discount during the 2025 Eid homecoming season. This is a move by the state-owned enterprise to make it easier for people to return to their hometowns.

The discount will be given for six days during the 2025 Eid holiday period on a number of toll roads on the island of Java.

"The discount on toll rates from Jakarta to Semarang and vice versa on the Trans-Java toll road sections. The amount is 20 percent for all vehicle classes," said Subakti Syukur, President Director of Jasa Marga.

The roads receiving the discount are the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road, the MBZ elevated toll road, Palikanci, Batang-Semarang, and Semarang ABC sections. The toll rate discount for long-distance travel requires payment using an e-toll card.

"So we are truly giving the rate discount to toll road users who use an e-toll card," said Subakti Syukur.

The toll rate discount will be given for six days, namely four days before Eid from March 24 - 27, 2025, and two days after Eid, from April 8 to 9, 2025.

This year's homecoming season has not only received attention from Jasa Marga but also from the Indonesian National Police (Polri). They will deploy 164,278 personnel to guard several vital points during the 2025 Eid homecoming and return flows.

This number consists of 1,165 personnel from the National Police Headquarters, then over 90,000 personnel from the Regional Police ranks, and 70,000 from related agencies.

The personnel, Endi continued, are tasked with ensuring that people in crowded central points can travel home safely. They will also be deployed to anticipate the peak of the homecoming and return traffic flows.

Eid 2025 is expected to fall on April 1. However, interestingly, the Eid holiday is close to Nyepi Day, plus the collective leave days and the weekend.

Therefore, the public will get a long holiday of 11 consecutive days. Therefore, people are advised to manage their homecoming travel schedules more optimally to avoid traffic congestion.
