KatadataOTO – Although it was just launched at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2025, the demand for the Chery Tiggo Cross is claimed to be quite high. Impressively, the Chinese manufacturer claims to have already received around 2,000 orders.

This large number of orders has an impact on customers. This is because they have to wait longer than previously estimated, so it's likely they won't be able to use it for the mudik homecoming.

“It depends on the order, because deliveries have already started. But indeed, not all of them can be fulfilled before Eid al-Fitr,” said Zeng Shuo, Country Director of Chery Sales Indonesia, to the media some time ago.

With this, it can be confirmed that not all Chery Tiggo Cross customers will be able to use the vehicles they have ordered during the 2025 Eid al-Fitr homecoming.

Meanwhile, Budi Darmawan, Sales Director of PT Chery Sales Indonesia, revealed that his party is currently trying to increase the production volume of its vehicles.

“We will double the production of the Chery Tiggo Cross. From the beginning, we suspected the demand would be high, but not this high,” he said.

He also revealed that the high demand is not only coming from the Greater Jakarta area. This is because several major cities such as Surabaya, Makassar, Bandung, Semarang, and Medan have also given a positive response.

“We estimate that in April 2025, the production number will increase to 600 to 700 units, which is double the current figure of around 300 units. Meanwhile, the number of cars to be delivered by the end of the month is about 600 units,” he concluded.

The high demand for the Chery Tiggo Cross has led the manufacturer to finally raise its price. This is because orders have reached 1,600 units since it was first sold at the IIMS 2025 event.

However, the initial price was only given to the first 1,000 people who placed an order. Therefore, the manufacturer announced that the official price of the Chery has increased by IDR 10 million from the launch price.

Now, the price of the Chery Tiggo Cross Comfort variant is IDR 249.5 million and the Premium variant is IDR 279.5 million.
