KatadataOTO – MG Motor Indonesia revealed its achievements at the IIMS 2025 event. Although not as big as other Chinese brands in the country, there are some interesting notes.

Appearing at the IIMS 2025 exhibition, MG Motor Indonesia presented a complete selection of vehicle models. Ranging from conventional (ICE) vehicles, Hybrid, to pure electric (BEV).

Moreover, many of the models offered feature an SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle) style. This type of vehicle has recently received more attention from the public.

MG's flagship SUV is said to have received a positive response during the 11 days at JIExpo Kemayoran, Central Jakarta. In fact, their electrified models are said to be the best-selling units.

"Orders at IIMS 2025 reached 400 units. 80 percent were BEVs, ranging from the MG 4 EV and MG ZS EV," said He Guowei, Chief Executive Officer of MG Motor Indonesia, during a media Iftar event in Jakarta (04/03).

As one of the manufacturers marketing electric cars, MG is quite serious about showing its commitment in the country's automotive market.

It was said that the MG 4 EV dominated orders, accounting for up to 60 percent of the total achievement during IIMS 2025. Meanwhile, the MG ZS EV only received 20 percent of the overall orders.

The demand for MG electric cars in Indonesia is quite high. They revealed they are ready to introduce more new models.

Furthermore, he also sees the potential for hybrid cars in the country. This is due to the subsidies provided by the government.

"I also heard the three percent (incentive) is very significant, especially for us. If we can get the (subsidy), it will help lower the price and help consumers," explained He Guowei.

MG Motor Indonesia itself already has a factory in the country. The facility under the SAIC banner will be utilized for local assembly.

This is because to get incentives from the government, one of the requirements is to increase the Local Content Level (TKDN).

As for the newest MG model, no further information has been announced. However, some parties are pointing towards the ZS HEV model.

The model was just introduced in India during the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.
