KatadataOTO – The Mitsubishi Destinator received a positive reception from consumers in Indonesia. This was proven by the number of orders during GIIAS 2025.

In 11 days, the new Mitsubishi car successfully collected more than 1,900 Vehicle Order Letters (SPK).

Based on the figures above, the Mitsubishi Destinator contributed 47 percent of the SPK obtained by the three-diamond brand.

Thanks to the success above, Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKS) wants to expand its wings in the Indonesian market.

“We expect our market share to increase from the usual 8.5 percent and are targeting 10 percent,” said Atsushi Kurita, President Director of MMKSI at ICE BSD, Tangerang some time ago.

Kurita hopes the Mitsubishi Destinator can sell 10,000 units in the 2025 fiscal year, counting from August 2025 to March 2026.

On the other hand, if calculated for 12 months from August 2025 to August 2026, this manufacturer from Japan has set a target of being able to sell 17,000 Mitsubishi Destinators.

The Mitsubishi executive is also quite confident with the new product. Because the Destinator is claimed to have created a new segment, namely the medium seven-seater Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV).

This way, it can meet the needs of domestic consumers who want to switch from a low Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV).

“The majority of our consumers have two to three cars. It can also be for switching from the Xpander, because the concept is to upgrade the vehicle level from the Xpander to the Destinator,” Kurita stated.

For your information, since the beginning of the year, Mitsubishi has been targeting a market share of 10 percent in 2025.

Besides relying on the Mitsubishi Destinator, they also intend to improve services for consumers in the country.

This includes simplifying the process of owning a Mitsubishi car. Such as by providing attractive sales program options.

“To support market penetration, MMKSI continues to expand its sales network. Throughout 2024, the company added 10 new dealers, so the total official network selling passenger and light commercial vehicles now reaches 172 dealers throughout Indonesia,” said Budi Darmawan, Head of Sales Group MMKSI on a different occasion.

Thus, they are optimistic they can increase their market share in new car sales in the country throughout 2025.
