Omoda Set to Debut in Indonesia, Bringing Four Products

KatadataOTO – Last year, Chery Group announced the arrival of Omoda as a separate brand from Chery. This sub-brand will be sold under the Jaecoo Indonesia umbrella.

Chery has not yet specifically announced its debut time, but it seems the arrival of Omoda for Indonesian consumers is getting closer.

Recently, the official Omoda website was activated along with the official social media account with the username @o_reawake.

The Omoda website reads “Re-awake The Future” complete with four car silhouettes, believed to be their product candidates in Indonesia.

It should be noted, there are several Omoda models being considered for the Indonesian market. For example, Omoda O9 as one of its flagships.

The arrival of the Omoda O9 has started to become a topic of conversation, especially after the unit was seen driving around the streets of the Capital City.

The Omoda O9 is a flagship Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) from the Chery sub-brand that is equipped with Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) or SHS technology, similar to Jaecoo products.

Its appearance is at a glance similar to the Chery C5, also known as the Omoda 5 facelift, which has been marketed domestically since 2025.

However, the Omoda identity is reinforced by an LED bar, framing the headlight and running horizontally right above the Omoda emblem.

Speaking of the powertrain, the Omoda O9 SHS uses a 1,500 cc turbo engine equipped with an electric motor.

Thanks to an additional 34 kWh battery, the car has an extended pure electric range. The claim is 169 kilometers (NEDC) on a single charge.

Then there is the Omoda 4 compact SUV, which is scheduled to debut in Australia this year. This model is presented as a prototype of the Omoda 3.

It still follows the posture of other Omoda model lines, but with its own characteristics. The grille is dominated by black, and there is no LED bar like on the Omoda O9.

A futuristic feel is more apparent due to the sharp lines across the body, such as on the hood and side areas.

Then, the Chery C5 has an SHS or PHEV variant, named the Omoda 5 SHS. There is a chance the gasoline variant will continue to be sold under the Chery banner, while the hybrid type will be marketed by Omoda-Jaecoo.

However, there have been no leaks regarding the price, or which product will be launched first in Indonesia.
