KatadataOTO – PT HPM (Honda Prospect Motor) plans to introduce at least three new models for consumers this year. All of them are hybrid cars.

According to Honda Indonesia, one of the models will be focused on local production. Thus, it can enjoy a three percent tax incentive from the government.

“We have three, yes, one model will be launched soon this month,” said Yusak Billy, Sales & Marketing and After Sales Director of PT HPM when met in Sunter some time ago.

For your information, the two Honda hybrid cars currently in the country are the CR-V e:HEV and the Accord e:HEV. Both are still imported as CBU (Completely Built Up) from Thailand.

When asked about leaks of the new models to be introduced, Billy revealed that the new Honda hybrid cars will fill three different segments.

“There are various (models), yes. There are sedans, SUVs (Sport Utility Vehicles), and MPVs (Multi Purpose Vehicles). The one for local production is the SUV,” said Billy.

The MPV in question is strongly believed to be the Honda Stepwgn e:HEV. The unit was once exhibited at automotive events like GIIAS (Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show) 2025.

However, the exact launch time for the Honda Stepwgn e:HEV is not yet known. But Billy did not deny that some dealers have started taking orders from consumers.

“Many dealers are already (offering it), maybe some are approaching their loyal customers to book first,” said Billy.

At the GIIAS 2025 event, Honda Indonesia began surveying potential customers regarding the expected price if the Stepwgn e:HEV is brought to the country later.

At that time, it was known that the expected price range for potential customers was around Rp 600 million and above.

This means the figure is not much different from the Stepwgn e:HEV's closest potential rival, which is also equipped with hybrid technology, the Nissan Serena e-Power.

Besides the Honda Stepwgn e:HEV, Honda's new SUV is suspected to be the HR-V e:HEV.

In Indonesia, only the conventional engine version is sold to the mass market. Meanwhile, its electric-powered variant, the e:N1, is offered to fleet customers through a rental scheme, costing around Rp 22 million per month.

Lastly is the sedan. There is a strong chance the Civic e:HEV, which has already launched in Malaysia, will be brought here.
