Polytron's sales of only hundreds of units make them more realistic about selling electric cars.

KatadataOTO – Car sales for Polytron in Indonesia are still relatively small. Since starting sales in July 2025, the Kudus-based manufacturer has only managed to record retail sales of 208 units.
The highest figure was in October 2025 with sales of 103 units. That number then decreased in November 2025 as they were only able to deliver 58 units to customers.
Although still relatively low, Diantika, General Manager of Corporate Communication at Polytron, considers this to be reasonable. This is because they have just started selling, so not many people are familiar with their products.
“Unlike electric motorcycles, the G3 and G3+ cars are still relatively new in Indonesia. So many people are not yet familiar with them,” she told KatadataOTO.
In addition, stiff competition from Chinese manufacturers has had a significant impact on sales. This is because these foreign products are priced with various advantages, from technology to price.
“In the car segment, the competition is indeed quite tight because now the competition is not limited to the product but also the price. Meanwhile, we are just starting this year and are still learning to be able to compete in it,” she said.
Nevertheless, she believes that what Polytron has done is already very good. Especially since they are a local brand yet capable of competing with global manufacturers.
“But that doesn't mean we are standing still, because next year Polytron will make a new breakthrough, so it is hoped that sales will be better,” she asserted.
It should be noted that Polytron currently has the G3 and G3+ electric cars. These models are offered at prices from Rp 299 million to Rp 339 million with a battery rental scheme.
Meanwhile, if you want to buy it with the battery, customers must pay from Rp 419 million to Rp 459 million.
The Polytron electric car is equipped with a 51.9 kWh capacity battery, offering a range of 402 kilometers on a single full charge.
A fast-charging option is available that allows the battery to be charged in a short time, from 20 percent to 70 percent in less than 30 minutes.
The electric motor in the Polytron G3 is claimed to produce 150 kW of power, equivalent to 201 hp, with a peak torque of 320 Nm, delivered to the front wheels.
