KatadataOTO – At the IIMS 2025 event, Suzuki brought concept models up to their old MPV, the APV Arena. However, interestingly, a vehicle frame was also present, suspected to be the body of the hybrid Fronx car.

What's most clearly visible is the rear window frame design, which is very identical to the Fronx. Its presence seems to signal the initial introduction of the hybrid Fronx to visitors.

However, when confirmed about the frame, Suzuki was still reluctant to speak further and emphasized that it was a form of education for the public about Suzuki's technology and product line.

“We can't say that it's the platform for product A, B, or C. This is an education on the manufacturing steps (of Suzuki) in Indonesia,” said Harold Donnel, 4W Marketing Director of PT SIS (Suzuki Indomobil Sales) on the sidelines of IIMS 2025 recently.

According to him, the chassis shows visitors and Suzuki consumers that the formation of a vehicle's body-in-white is one of the stages of vehicle production.

At the booth, consumers can also learn more detailed information about the embedded technology and the advantages of the frame.

“Regarding the existence of the Fronx, we will certainly inform you if there are any updates,” he asserted.

For your information, the suspected Suzuki Fronx was seen being road-tested in Bekasi and the Cikarang area, West Java, last year.

The presence of the Fronx has the potential to replace the Ignis, whose sales were discontinued by Suzuki some time ago.

Furthermore, with the government providing hybrid car incentives, there is a high chance Suzuki is interested in presenting the Fronx as an HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle) option for consumers.

Its design is at a glance similar to the latest Grand Vitara, only slightly smaller with dimensions of L x W x H at 3,995 mm x 1,765 mm x 1,550 mm.

In India, the Suzuki Fronx is available in two types: a 1.0L Turbo Boosterjet Engine with Smart Hybrid or an Advanced 1.2L K-Series Dual Jet Dual VVT.

On paper, its claimed power is 84 hp to 98 hp and peak torque is 113 Nm to 147.6 Nm, channeled through a five-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission.
