KatadataOTO – PT SIS (Suzuki Indomobil Sales) has confirmed that Suzuki's first electric-powered SUV, the e Vitara, will enter the Indonesian market in early 2026. This is one proof of its commitment to supporting electrification in the country.

Welcoming the arrival of the electric car e Vitara, Suzuki claims to have started preparing supporting infrastructure to facilitate EV (Electric Vehicle) users in the future.

“There is a lot of infrastructure we must prepare, as mentioned earlier. Suzuki does not want to be reckless, releasing the product first and then taking care of the (infrastructure) later. We want everything to be comprehensive,” said Harold Donnel, 4W Marketing Director of PT SIS, on the sidelines of IIMS 2025, Thursday (13/2).

The availability of infrastructure such as public electric vehicle charging stations (SPKLU) is still one of the public's considerations when buying an electric car. Thus, it is a focus for Suzuki before bringing in the e Vitara.

Besides charging stations, the readiness of mechanics at official workshops must also be ensured to be capable of handling electric cars if there are problems.

“Especially our internal readiness and that of the mechanics. What if this car has a problem and so on,” Harold emphasized.

Unfortunately, he could not yet reveal information regarding the price range for when the Suzuki e Vitara eventually hits the roads in Indonesia.

Although orders have not yet opened, prospective customers can reportedly already see more detailed information about the Suzuki e Vitara on Suzuki's official website.

For your information, the Suzuki e Vitara was born from the eVX concept car that was present in Indonesia at GIIAS 2024. Carrying an SUV concept, the eVX is the forerunner of their first strategic EV in the global market.

In terms of design, the e Vitara still looks identical to the eVX Concept, but with adjustments made to several exterior parts such as the door handles.

In the concept version, the eVX already used more modern, flush-style door handles. However, the e Vitara will use a conventional design.

The front fascia looks unique, not much different from the eVX, as it uses tri-LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lights).

The Suzuki e Vitara carries an LFP battery in two capacity options, 49 kWh or 61 kWh, which is claimed to support a journey of up to 500 km on a single charge.
