KatadataOTO – President Prabowo Subianto is creating several programs for 2025. One of them is MBG (Free Nutritious Meals).
This has turned out to be a blessing for several parties. As is being felt by SIS (Suzuki Indomobil Sales).
Because the new Suzuki Carry pickup will be used as a logistics transport fleet for the program of Indonesia's number one person.
“The MBG program is currently a hot topic, because there will be 5,000 kitchens and each kitchen must have two cars. That means 10,000 light pickup vehicles are needed, and for this segment, there are only a few brands,” said Aliftia Rizki Annisa, Head of Fleet Sales 4W PT SIS at IIMS 2025, on Wednesday (19/02).
She further explained that Suzuki and the government have had discussions regarding the purchase of the new Suzuki Carry.
“Yesterday we were called in and asked how many units we could provide, how much we could contribute, we were asked everything,” she continued.
Aliftia stated that Prabowo's free nutritious meals program is being implemented in several waves.
In 2025, it will be the third phase, requiring 1,800 to 2,000 vehicles.
“We have prepared 600 units, because we were asked how many cars we could ready, and Suzuki will provide support,” Aliftia affirmed.
She said she is happy to be able to contribute to the free nutritious meals program. Because it has a positive impact on their sales.
For your information, Suzuki Indomobil Sales recorded 15,000 vehicles in their fleet sales in 2024.
“That figure contributed 21 percent to Suzuki's total retail sales throughout 2024,” she stated.
She is grateful for last year's achievement. Considering the four-wheeled vehicle market was sluggish in 2024.
She explained that the new Suzuki Carry is quite in demand. It managed to dominate with a figure of 46 percent in their fleet sales.
“Second is the Suzuki APV at 19 percent, while in the passenger car segment, the new Suzuki XL7 leads with a 15 percent dominance,” she concluded.
Meanwhile, the all-new Suzuki Ertiga is also no less interesting. As it was able to contribute 13 percent of sales.
“These fleet sales are in high demand by business actors and entrepreneurs in Indonesia,” Aliftia revealed.
On the other hand, Jabodetabek (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi) is the main contributor with a 41 percent share.
In addition, demand is also high in a number of regions. Such as East Java, Sumatra, East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, to Central Java.
