Chery Ready to Launch 7 Models by 2026, Including Diesel Cars

KatadataOTO – Chery will launch at least seven new models in 2026, one of which is a diesel-engine car. The presence of all these vehicles is believed to provide more choices for customers.

With more options available, it is hoped that customers will find it easier to get a unit that suits their individual needs.

These options consist of CSH cars, seven-seater vehicles, and off-road models. There will also be a 6-7 seater SUV, a City Car EV, and a CSH Diesel Double Cabin.

“So in 2026, all lines, including ICE, CSH, EV, and diesel, will be gradually completed. We will start launching them at IIMS 2026, but there will be an event beforehand,” said Budi Darmawan Jantania, Vice Country Director of Chery Business Unit (24/01).

“We will enter both the fleet and private user segments. So, Chery is not just following the current trend but also making breakthroughs with its vehicles,” he added.

It should be noted that Chery's sales in 2025 were significant. The Chinese manufacturer managed to record retail sales of 19,485 units.

This figure is a significant increase compared to its achievement in 2024, which was only 8,626 units. This means there was an increase of 10,859 units, or equivalent to 125.9 percent.

They have now captured at least 2.3 percent of the total national market, an increase from the previous year's 1 percent. With this, Chery now ranks as the 12th best-selling car manufacturer in Indonesia.

Not only in retail, they also achieved sweet results in wholesales. Chery is recorded to have shipped 19,391 units from the factory to dealers throughout 2025.

This number grew by 10,200 units or 111 percent compared to the total shipments in 2024, which were 9,191 units.

Chery now holds 2.4 percent of the total national wholesales and became the ninth largest manufacturer distributing vehicles in 2025.
