The Suzuki Fronx crash test in Japan achieved a nearly perfect result, with its safety features being a particular highlight.
KatadataOTO – Suzuki Fronx is one of the prospective affordable SUVs (Sport Utility Vehicles) that will officially launch in Indonesia at the end of May 2025.
Recently, Japan NCAP (New Car Assessment Program) published the results of the crash test and safety for the Suzuki Fronx.
Overall, the model from Maruti Suzuki received a score of 84 percent, equivalent to four stars. This is for the unit sold in Japan.
Several safety features received perfect scores, meaning they work optimally to ensure the driver's safety while driving.
It should be noted that Japan NCAP, or JNCAP, has implemented several new criteria, such as more capable intersection collision avoidance and pedestrian safety testing.
The latest Suzuki Fronx adheres to these standards and has made several adjustments to meet these safety requirements.
In the latest criteria, the offset frontal collision test, the car is driven at a speed of 50 km/h. The Fronx was able to absorb the impact of the collision, scoring 21.08 out of a maximum of 24 points.
Meanwhile, when hit from the side by an object at a speed of 55 km/h, the car's airbags deployed effectively, allowing the Fronx to achieve a perfect score.
However, there are some notes for certain features, such as the nighttime pedestrian detection, which was rated lower than other competitors, according to JNCAP.
For your information, the Suzuki Fronx in Indonesia will be locally assembled and has the potential to receive hybrid car incentives from the government.
Preliminary information from sales staff indicates that the highest hybrid variant will be sold for around IDR 330 million OTR (On The Road) Jakarta. Customers can prepare a booking fee of IDR 5 million if they are interested in placing an order.
Three variants are offered. The highest type is the SGX, available in a new, elegant Ice Grayish Blue two-tone color option.
Behind the central rearview mirror, the Suzuki Fronx SGX is equipped with the Suzuki Safety Support active safety feature.
Another type, the GX, has several characteristics of the SGX type but without the Ice Grayish Blue color option. A manual transmission version is also available.
The cheapest variant is the GL. Its main differentiator is the interior with a black and burgundy color combination.
There is no head-up display on this type, and it still uses a conventional ignition key to start the car.
