KatadataOTO – PT SIS (Suzuki Indomobil Sales) is ready to complete their line of environmentally friendly vehicles in Indonesia. The newest is the Suzuki Fronx Hybrid.

At IIMS 2025, it was strongly suspected that the frame displayed at the Suzuki booth at that time belonged to the Fronx. However, the manufacturer with the S logo emphasized that the chassis was presented as an introduction of hybrid technology to consumers.

However, it is undeniable that the Fronx will be an environmentally friendly vehicle model from Suzuki that will be introduced to the Indonesian market in the near future.

The presence of the Fronx completes Suzuki's electrification line, which currently consists of the Grand Vitara, Ertiga Cruise, and XL7.

“If we look at it, yes, within this year (the Fronx will enter Indonesia). But as for which month, we haven't decided yet,” said Joshi Prasetya, Department Head of Strategic Planning at PT SIS in Jakarta, Friday (14/03).

In Indonesia, similar models to the Suzuki Fronx still use only conventional engines without being equipped with hybrid technology. For example, the Honda WR-V, Toyota Raize, and Daihatsu Rocky.

Thus, the presence of the Fronx could be an attractive option for urban communities who want to use a compact-sized hybrid car.

For comparison, the dimensions of the Suzuki Fronx are 3,995 mm x 1,765 mm x 1,550 mm, not much different from the Baleno Hatchback which is already marketed domestically at 3,990 mm x 1,745 mm x 1,485 mm.

“Well, yesterday you started to see it (a glimpse of the Fronx at IIMS 2025). We will announce (the launch time) later,” Joshi affirmed.

The arrival of the Suzuki Fronx will fill the void left by the Ignis. The car's sales have been discontinued by Suzuki in Indonesia.

There is a chance the Suzuki Fronx will be locally assembled and become a new candidate to receive hybrid car incentives, like the XL7 and Ertiga.

Considering, the Suzuki factory will receive another funding injection of IDR 5 trillion for the development of production facilities, including for hybrid electrification models.

Suzuki sales personnel have also started offering the unit to consumers. Towards the end of last year, it was revealed that its price tag is below the Grand Vitara.

“The price range for the Suzuki Fronx is not the same as the Vitara. It's still in the IDR 300 million range, below the Grand Vitara,” revealed a Suzuki salesperson when contacted by KatadataOTO some time ago
