Suzuki is preparing a new 7-seater version of the Grand Vitara, set to launch in late 2025.
KatadataOTO – Suzuki is preparing the latest version of one of their SUVs (Sport Utility Vehicle), the Grand Vitara. Previously, the model was launched with a 5-seater configuration.
It seems this version will launch first in the Indian market. On several occasions, the unit has been seen undergoing road tests there.
In terms of design, the Suzuki Grand Vitara 7-seater is predicted to receive many exterior changes compared to the previous model.
Referring to local media reports, the Grand Vitara 7-seater unit tested in India at a glance has a thinner DRL (Daytime Running Light) appearance and a split-style headlight design.
Both the front and rear bumpers get a new design to strengthen the sporty impression of the Grand Vitara 7-seater.
It is possible that some of the latest technologies embedded in the electric Vitara, namely the e-Vitara, will also be added to the newest Grand Vitara. For example, a more minimalist dashboard design, a 10.25-inch head unit, and ambient lighting around the front cabin.
Other standard features are also included, such as a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger, and HUD (Heads Up Display). Then in the safety sector, there are six airbags and a 360-degree camera.
Speaking of the powertrain, there is a high chance Suzuki will provide several options, ranging from a 1,500 cc gasoline engine to one equipped with hybrid technology.
The price is predicted to be around Rs 14 lakh. In rupiah, this figure is equivalent to around IDR 272.6 million.
For your information, in Indonesia, several Suzuki models like the Jimny 5-door, S-Presso, and the Baleno facelift are imported from India.
With the high interest of the Indonesian public in SUV-type cars with a 7-seater configuration, the Grand Vitara 7-seater has a chance of being introduced in Indonesia.
However, currently, Suzuki is known to be preparing the Fronx. The model, which is identical to the Grand Vitara, is set to launch towards the end of May 2025 in several variants, including a hybrid.
Based on KatadataOTO's investigation some time ago, salespersons have already started offering the Suzuki Fronx to consumers. The units will be delivered to consumers after GIIAS (Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show) 2025.
The price range is from IDR 250 million to IDR 300 million on the road in Jakarta. This price tag is still below the Grand Vitara (IDR 364.9 million - IDR 402.3 million).
Thus, it can be an attractive new option for consumers who like compact SUVs with hybrid technology.
