KatadataOTO – Suzuki is optimistic it can capture at least 8.5 percent of the national car market in 2025. This figure is an increase compared to the achievement in 2024.
Based on Gaikindo data, Suzuki's retail sales in Indonesia in 2024 were 69,392 units. This number was enough for them to capture 7.8 percent of the total market in the country.
Meanwhile, in wholesales, the Japanese company shipped 66,809 units to their network. Its market share was 7.7 percent.
Even when compared to the 2023 achievement, the target set by Suzuki is quite challenging. This is because at that time they only captured 8.3 percent of national retail sales.
Similarly in wholesales, in 2023 the manufacturer captured 8.1 percent of the vehicle market in the country.
To achieve the set target, they will continue to rely on the Suzuki Carry as the backbone of sales. This is because the product has become one of the top choices.
“Certainly, 50 percent will come from commercial vehicles, in this case, the Suzuki Carry. Meanwhile, passenger cars will also account for 50 percent, consisting of several models,” said Randy R. Murdoko, Dept. Head 4W Sales of PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales to the media (17/01).
Specifically for the passenger vehicle segment, he revealed that the hybrid variant has received high interest.
“The hope is that the number will continue to increase in line with the government's zero-emission target,” he added.
Therefore, they will launch several new products to meet the public's needs.
Suzuki is also ready to invest up to IDR 5 trillion in 2025. The funds are planned to be focused on purchasing new equipment. This is important because the manufacturer can carry out a lot of product development.
“This IDR 5 trillion investment will be used to invest in production equipment such as tools and dies,” said Shodiq Wicaksono, Managing Director of PT Suzuki Indomobil Motor.
With the large amount of funds prepared, it is certainly hoped that Suzuki can be more optimal in producing vehicles.
